Farmers Market Highlight: The DC Eastern Market

Looking for stands of fresh produce, meats and other products? Visit DC’s Eastern Market just east of the US Capitol. This market operates year-round - From Tuesday to Sunday, shoppers can visit the South Market where merchants sell their finest selection of meats, produce, baked goods and more. On weekends, the market opens up with beautiful live music, art and antiques! After visiting the Eastern Market last month, I was dazzled by this market’s energy and passion coming from the merchants. I got the chance to speak with a couple of small businesses and each of their unique stories were extremely inspiring. On top of that, I had a spam musubi that changed my life from one of the indoor vendors. If you want to explore the small businesses from the greater DMV area, stop by the Eastern Market!
You Need Renters Insurance - Here’s Why:
Renting a home in Washington, DC offers access to vibrant city life, but it also comes with responsibilities that many overlook—like securing renters insurance. While it may seem like an unnecessary expense, renters insurance is an affordable safeguard against unexpected events.
Washington, DC, is no stranger to risks such as theft, fire, or water damage. Renters insurance protects your personal belongings, covering the cost of replacement or repair if they’re damaged or stolen. Imagine a fire in your building—your landlord’s insurance covers the structure, but not your possessions. Without renters insurance, you’re left paying out of pocket to replace everything from furniture to electronics.
Renters insurance includes liability coverage, which is crucial in a city with close living quarters. If a guest is injured in your apartment or you accidentally cause damage to a neighbor’s unit, this coverage can prevent costly lawsuits or repair bills.
In DC, where rents are already high, renters insurance is surprisingly affordable, often costing less than $30 per month. It provides peace of mind knowing you’re protected from financial setbacks.
Don’t wait until disaster strikes. A small investment in renters insurance today can save you from significant financial stress tomorrow

Renters insurance by Lemonade offers peace of mind at an affordable price. Get your free quote for protection today, starting at $5/month.
